카테리나 벨키나는 러시아 서부 사마라 출신의 여성사진가이다. 현재 러시아 모스크바에서 거주하며 작업을 하고 있으며 국제무대에서 주목 받고 있다. .그녀는 러시아 작가상을 시작으로 인터내셔널 포토그래피 어워드, 인터내셔널 컬러어워드 등 국제 사진상을 다수 수상한 젊은 대표 러시아 사진가 이다. 현대 도시는 그녀에게 있어서 인공적이고 물질적이며 외로움과 공허함이 공존하는 장소이다. 그녀는 이러한 장소에 살고 있는 현대인의 모습을 그녀만의 독특한 분위기로 다시 재현하고 가공해 새로운 이미지를 만든다.
