시간은 빛의 탄생과 함께 시작되었다. 삶 속의 시간을 빛에 새기고 싶다. 도시 건축물의 외관을 연상시키기도 하는 메탈은 ‘투영’과 ‘반사’ 효과가 특징이다. 이러한 매탈의 물성은 동시에 본인의 작업에 기본테마인 현대사회 내 소통과 상호관계를 보여주는 내용전달 수단으로서의 역할을 갖는다. ‘투영과 반사’를 거치는 과정에서 "에너지는 소멸되지않고 전환될 뿐이다.“ 라는 일상속의 물리적이면서도 철학적인 원리를 칼로 새겨지고 중첩된 이미지들이 메탈과 빛의 상호작용 사이에서 만들어낸 수수께끼같은 공간의 깊이를 빌어 표현하고자 한다. 거대한 도시빌딩숲속 현대인들의 삶이 품고 있는 꿈속 무한한 에너지들에 내재된 빛들이, 서로 갈등과 소통을 반복하며 어우러지는 단편들은 곧 빅뱅의 현상처럼 하나의 큰 빛을 발산해 낸다. 본인은 이러한 모습들을 이번 도시 풍경화속에서 다양한 빛의 파편으로써 투영, 반사시켜 보고자 한다. | |||||||||
